A Place to Be Seen: Eviction Prevention Assistance Brings Hope
Helping a Mother of Five Keep Her Family Safely Housed
When unexpected hardship puts a family’s housing at risk, timely eviction prevention assistance can provide more than financial relief—it can offer hope, stability, and the reassurance that someone cares.
When a mother of five walked through our doors, she wore a face mask, not because she was sick, but because she was embarrassed after a devastating accident had left her with broken facial bones and the loss of all of her upper teeth. Despite her injuries, she was working as a waitress and doing everything she could to provide for her children. She had managed to pay $1,350 toward her $2,000 rent, but the remaining $650 put her family at risk of losing her home.
Thanks to the generosity of our supporters, Crisis Assistance Ministry was able to cover the remaining balance and prevent an eviction. We also invited her to connect with our long-term stability programs, offering encouragement and resources beyond financial assistance.
Sometimes the greatest gift isn’t just paying a bill—it’s reminding someone they are seen, valued, and not walking through life’s hardest moments alone.
